President's Message

Midway through fiscal year 2009, we started to feel the effects of the economic down turn. Our Industrial Division experienced a substantial drop in sales. Sales eventually leveled out, but the volume was much lower. Bankruptcy of one customer did necessitate a substantial write-off at year end. Even with these setbacks, we still had a good positive year.

Fiscal year 2009 was our year for a CARF Survey. I am pleased to report we received another 3-year accreditation. We are proud of this accomplishment and the accreditation does assure stakeholders that we are providing quality programs and services.

Fiscal year 2009 was also the year for our Head Start / Early Head Start programs to have a Triennial Federal Review. The result of that review was also outstanding. All of our staff is to be commended for the quality of their work, and their commitment to our mission.

I hope everyone will take a few minutes to review the highlights of both our Adult and Children's programs contained in this report. You will see that we initiated some very creative activities, had some program growth, and a great deal of customer satisfaction. Success in a difficult year is made possible by an outstanding staff and a knowledgeable, supportive Board of Directors.
